"We're human. This is glue."

I met Lindsay over a decade ago and we are still friends to this day. I bought a ticket and boarded a train last weekend to her chateau, in celebration of her 31st birthday. She lives in Rhode Island (which isn't a road or an island). We watched television classic (Ally McBeal), ate good food (she can't resist a chinese chicken finger) and got into various levels of debauchery not suited for any blog (have you seen her drink?). In celebration of her day I began to wonder how and why we remain friends to this day. People come into your life and then they leave. They all serve a purpose. I think we are still friends to this day because we are shockingly alike. Maybe we share the same brain? Okay it doesn't go that far. But we are able to be quiet with each other. I don't think people realize what that means unless you have it. We don't have to say sorry or constantly ask how we are. We know how we are. We are both still searching. She doesn't see how much of a leader she is how brave. It's easier to see the bad (so here I try to show her the good). She is a writer. A teacher. We are all human. And this is glue. Some day soon she will find her Biscuit.

I Want To Ride the Subway With Him

Why isn't anyone that cute ever riding the subway with me? I always get the homeless person who hasn't showered in a year.

Black Swan

I am not usually a fan of movies centered around ballet unless at some point it has a fun hip-hop dance performance thrown in there, like Center Stage so at first I wasn't that interested in seeing this movie. But the previews and the rave reviews I have heard pulled me in.

People who had seen it told me that it is a movie that will make you pay attention and think. I love movies that make you think and keep you guessing until the end, and beyond. Those are always my favorite types. I was also told that some moments will make me cringe. Now, I am not the type of person who cringes during gross happenings (unless it has to do with the eyes-yuck) so I didn't think I would be all that disgusted. Well I was wrong. Three scenes in particular made me close my eyes.

The thinking part though was definitely true. Even now as I sit here and write this blog I am pondering what truly happened. And I love it. This is my favorite movie of 2011 and in my top 10 favorite movies of all time and I am going to see it again with a friend.

This movie will leave you freaked out, confused and above all awed. I give it 5 stars.
